Syrian & Afghan Families Refugee Project

Care Zone is partnering with Peterborough City Council and other key organisations to support Syrian and Afghan families who are being resettled in Peterborough.

The Afghan families were recently evacuated from Afghanistan following the political changes in their country and have arrived to start a new life in the UK having lost everything.

The Syrian families have fled the conflict in Syria and have been living in refugee camps in the countries neighbouring Syria. They have all been identified as being vulnerable and in need of additional support.

I was a stranger and you invited me in.

how can i help?

Before the families arrive in Peterborough, Care Zone provides furniture, and volunteer teams from KingsGate dress the houses to turn them into warm, welcoming homes for the families.

Care Zone is looking for donations of high-quality furniture, bedding and kitchen utensils. Donations can be made by dropping items off at Care Zone (Dodson House, Peterborough, PE1 5XG) which is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10am and 1pm. Alternatively, please call Care Zone on 01733 575083 to arrange a free collection of large furniture items, or for further information.
