CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE – MONDAY 16 MARCH 2020
In light of the current global coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we have been keeping up to date with advice from the World Health Organisation and the UK government.
As a leadership team, we have been meeting regularly over the last few weeks to review all of our efforts in relation to this crisis. Our priority has been and continues to be the welfare of our KingsGate family and our wider communities as well as being able to watch out for the most vulnerable.
We now want to update you on some further steps we feel we need to take, which include the following:
From this Sunday 22 March we will be moving to online services for the foreseeable future and will not be gathering in any of our locations. We’re working hard to deliver a great online Mother’s Day service for this Sunday – keep checking this page for further updates about how to access this.
LifeGroups and other smaller gatherings
Following government advice, we have decided to suspend all courses and group gatherings in all our locations. This makes it all the more important for us to find creative ways to stay connected in community. Right now we are planning to help groups continue to meet together through the use of video technology.
Watching out for others
As we shared on Sunday, we need to live as Kingdom Ambassadors, watching out for others, especially for the elderly people in our families and communities. One way that we can practically help those who are particularly vulnerable at this time is by ensuring that we keep the stocks in our Foodbank high. You can visit the website for a shopping list:
As this situation continues to unfold, let’s be praying for our communities and for our nation, the government and for frontline healthcare workers. We have an incredible opportunity to reach out as the people of God, bringing peace and hope in the midst of great uncertainty and fear. So, let’s be as proactive as possible in allowing the light of Jesus to shine through us at this time.
Please keep returning to this page for essential updates.
With our love,
Dave and Karen
