Give Help

In this unusual season when Coronavirus (COVID-19) is disrupting our usual everyday lives, we continue to serve others in as many ways as possible.

There are four specific things you can do to serve others in this season:

Pray

Would you join us as a church community in taking every opportunity to pray for those affected by the current crisis? Those who are sick, the NHS staff who care for them at home or hospital, for businesses as they start to get back into operation, and all essential workers. Pray for your neighbours and colleagues too that they would be protected and strengthened in this season. Pray for the Prime Minister and both national and local governments.

Resources

Connect

Across KingsGate we have a network of LifeGroups which are the smaller groups that connect our community together. In our LifeGroups we take inspiration from the early church in Acts who not only worshipped and prayed together, but also carried each other’s practical needs (Acts 2:42-47). In our LifeGroups we take the opportunity to share practical ways and work out how we can serve each other. Currently all our groups are meeting online.

Care

We are taking the opportunity to care for our immediate neighbours and those in our wider community. In each of our KingsGate Centres we are supporting ministry that is caring for those most in need. We are encouraging our congregations to look out for vulnerable people in their neighbourhoods and to offer simple but much needed help. In some locations we are facilitating the distribution of wellbeing packs to frontline carers.

For more information drop an email to pastoralcareonline@kingsgate.church and one of the team will be in touch.

Volunteer

For those who are able and have the time available we would encourage volunteering in a number of key areas:

Foodbank

The foodbanks need a whole range of help. For more information visit trusselltrust.org/get-involved

KingsGate are the lead agency in the Peterborough Foodbank and our team are coordinating a city-wide distribution of food. If you are in Peterborough, you can contact the team directly to volunteer.

Local authority hub

The government has responded to the need of the most vulnerable by establishing community hubs in partnership with local authorities. The need is great and there is opportunity for volunteers in a range of different roles. You can find out more by looking at your local authority website.

Cambridgeshire

Leicestershire

We're encouraging those who are part of KingsGate London to support the Brickworks Community Centre
