We welcome applications from Christians who are part of the KingsGate family as well as those serving in another church. If you are aged 18 or older when the programme starts you can apply. You also need to have the right to work in the UK. Interns are based at a KingsGate Centre for the duration of their Internship.
The focus of this stream is on serving, self development and spiritual growth. Interns also have the option to take part in extra study and assignments if they choose to. There is no cost for Departmental Internship.
The focus of this stream is on leadership development. In addition to the core curriculum, teaching and high level coaching is given to help develop leadership skills. Written assignments and practical projects included help to intensify learning which is based on the leadership development plan put together at the beginning of Internship. Applicants applying for this stream will already have shown skills and ability in leadership in their church. Leadership Internship costs £1400.
Internship teaching and sessions are on Monday and Thursday. Interns then work with their Placement Manager to decide the times they will serve in their assigned department. Any remaining time is worked out for study (Leadership Interns) and some Interns take on part-time work.
The Internship programme starts mid-September with two days of induction on Monday and Tuesday. We graduate interns mid-July the following year.
We have created a bursary fund for applicants who would not otherwise be able to fund their Internship. You can apply as part of your application if you meet the following criteria:
- Applying for a Leadership Internship
- Expecting Internship to be full time
- Explored other means of funding your Internship
There are 3 levels of bursary:
- Level 1 – part or full remission of the course fees
- Level 2 – Level 1 plus help with housing costs up to £200 per month
- Level 3 – Level 2 plus help with living costs up to £250 per month
Bursaries are subject to the relevant Income Tax rules.
