Meet the Team

Martha French

Current Role:

Student, Youth and Community Action Team Leader

What I'm passionate about:

Arriving in Cambridge to study history in 2015 I fell in love with the city, a guy called Jonathan and the church. After graduation I became a townie, married the guy and started working for the church. I love to bake and read. I'm passionate about helping students live out Romans 12:1- becoming a 'living sacrifice' for God during their time at university.

Interesting fact:

Feeding people is my love language!

Current Role:

Student Team

What I'm passionate about:

Hailing all the way from New Zealand I now live in the centre of Cambridge with my wife Maria and our three children: Leni, Mabel and Vera. For my day job I do research at Cambridge Uni on sustainability, climate change solutions and developing countries, and for fun I play the drums and guitar, listen to vinyl and walk Baxter (my ridgeback dog).

Interesting fact:

I studied chemical engineering… despite my top A-level grade being history.

Ru Cullen

Current Role:

Student Team and Worship, Production and Prayer Team Leader

What I'm passionate about:

My name is Maria but everyone calls me Ru. In my life there's Jesus and there's my people and then there's basically just music. I love music. I write it, play it, eat it and breathe it. Occasionally I'm interested in other things (like indoor plants and outdoor fitness) but not often.

Interesting fact:

One of my core beliefs is that a good cup of tea is the solution to many of the issues of the day.

Chris Sharman

Current Role:

Cambridge Campus Pastor

What I'm passionate about:

A northerner by birth, I came to Cambridge in 2009 for vet school. Post-graduation I traded animals for people and began working for KingsGate. I get excited by food, coffee, nature, sports, reading and movies, and especially love doing all of the above with Annabel (except coffee - she's more of a tea person).

Interesting fact:

I once re-enacted the opening scene from the Lion King with my guinea pig
