DAY 1
Prepare for a great ingathering
‘I will surely gather all of you… the place will throng with people.’
(Micah 2:13)
Reflection
The vision that the prophet, Micah, gives us is both vivid and compelling: God gathering His people into a place that begins to throng, a swelling, living, breathing community. One translation calls it, ‘a milling throng of homebound people.’ (The Message)
Across our nation, something is shifting right now. After decades of spiritual decline, there is a growing openness to the gospel. The tide is turning, Bible sales are soaring, church attendance is growing, and more people are coming to Christ, in what has been called the Quiet Revival. God is doing something wonderful, He is bringing people home, and that’s why we need to PREPARE FOR A GREATER INGATHERING.
As we THINK BIGGER, let’s remember that every great ingathering requires preparation. That preparation starts with us – individually and together. We are the body of Christ, and we are called to play our part, using the unique gifts and talents that we’ve been given, to help see God’s Kingdom established here on the Earth. As a church family we want to be ready to welcome and nurture new believers. However, ‘Then he [Jesus] said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.”’ (Matthew 9:37-38)
Harvest is God’s work, but readiness is ours. Preparation begins with the people who are already home. This is about opening our hearts and preparing our ‘house’ – our lives and our church – so that when people arrive, they are welcomed, discipled, and then sent out.
Let’s prepare by GROWING.
A healthy harvest requires healthy labourers. Spiritual growth is not optional in a season of expansion. As people come searching for truth, we want them to find a people committed to spiritual depth and maturity. This is not a one-time event but a progressive, ongoing, and deepening process of becoming more like Jesus in character. So, let’s all commit to a continual desire to grow spiritually.
Let’s prepare by SERVING.
Church is not an event we attend but a family we serve. As more people come home, the call is for more people to step forward. When everyone plays their part, the body grows strong. We want to be ready to welcome and serve the ‘throng of people’ as they come through our doors. This means we need more people who are willing and ready to use their God-given talents and time.
Let’s prepare by GIVING.
Preparation also includes financial provision. Generosity fuels mission and as we honour God with our finances through tithes and offerings, we create margin for growth, sustainability, and future breakthrough. Giving is not simply about meeting needs; it is about investing in eternity and aligning our hearts with God’s purposes.
As we fulfil this great commission, let’s pray that we will be filled with love, wisdom, compassion, hope and courage, so that we can boldly share our faith with the multitudes who are seeking and searching for ‘home’.
Quotable Quote
“The purposes of God are unfolding all around the world and in our neighbourhoods. Take the opportunity to recalibrate for the ever-changing context, investing in the lives of those who want to be obedient to all that Jesus has commanded”

Prayer points
- Pray that, in this season of opportunity, we would repent where our hearts have grown cold, cautious or comfortable, hindering us from seeing the urgency of the opportunity that we have to share our faith. Ask the Lord to enlarge our hearts for people who are not yet home.
- Pray that we as individuals would be challenged to assess where we need to grow in our spiritual walk, so that unbelievers can see that we are people ‘of a different Spirit’ - not living according to the world, but living by God’s Word.
- Pray that as people come through our doors, they would immediately feel a sense of belonging, safety and warmth – that they’d ‘come home’.
- Pray that our serving capacity within all of our campuses increases, so that there will be no shortage of ‘labourers’ to welcome and disciple new believers. Pray especially for more children and youth team to be raised up, to help serve the growing numbers of young people coming through our doors.
- Pray for a fresh release of joyful generosity across our church. Pray for wisdom, faith and provision into every household. Thank God for the incredible faithfulness and sacrifice of hundreds of people who continue to invest into the work of the ministry, enabling us to Think Bigger and Beyond
Pray for alpha
There are Alpha courses running in all of our campuses, including in four Peterborough schools.
- Pray that God prepares the hearts and minds of guests, and that no obstacles or distractions would get in the way of them attending.
- Pray that guests would feel welcome, that authentic friendships would be quickly built, and for a great connection with the Alpha leaders and hosts.
