DAY 21

DAY 21: ‘Knocking in Prayer’ is Partnering with the Trinity!

As we conclude this prayer and fasting season, it’s important to remember that we don’t pray alone or in our own strength. Right at the start, we were reminded that Jesus, when teaching His disciples to pray, told them to say, Our Father…’ Then, after Jesus ascended into heaven, notice that He continues to intercede for us from the right hand of the Father, ‘Therefore he [Jesus] is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.’ Hebrews 7:25. So, we pray to the Father, through the Son, but there’s also a third party involved; the Holy Spirit, ‘In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:26-28. How wonderful that we get to partner with the Trinity! Something deep within us is released as we pray powerful, Spirit-led prayers, to the Father, in Jesus’ Name!

Groaning which cannot be uttered are often prayers that cannot be refused.

Prayer points

  • Let’s finish this prayer season as we started – praying for more of the wonderful Holy Spirit to come and fill us to overflowing. Spend some time in worship and prayer allowing Him to refresh us, strengthen and equip us for the season ahead.

  • Let your heart overflow with gratitude for the constant intercession that Jesus brings before the Father for your life. Then, thank the Holy Spirit for partnering with you to enable you to have a supernaturally charged ability to intercede for others in accordance with the will of God.

  • Pray for a fresh wind to come and blow across our land, bringing a revival to the church and an awakening in the nation where thousands of men, women and children can come to know that they, too can pray, ‘Our Father in heaven…’

don't forget to pray for your vips!
