VISION

Transforming Leaders Who Transform Lives

Leadership Academy is designed for people at any level of leadership, from emerging leaders to those with years of experience who want to keep growing. It exists to raise equip leaders who are transformed by God and who carry His Kingdom wherever they go.

Rooted in the vision of our church — transforming lives from our neighbourhoods to the nations by the power of God’s love —we envision these leaders releasing holistic transformation, multiplying communities of faith and advancing God’s Kingdom locally and globally.

We see students called to 4 streams of leadership:

  • Kingdom Ambassadors, with a call to marketplace ministry, bringing God’s Kingdom into every mountain of influence.
  • Ministry Leaders, equipped for full-time ministry within the Church and serving in a variety of leadership roles.
  • Pioneer Leaders, called to impact their neighbourhoods and establish vibrant missional communities.
  • Church Planters sent out to establish and lead thriving new churches across the world.

Through these leaders, we are excited to play our part in God’s awakening, seeing communities renewed, countless lives transformed, and the Kingdom of God advancing from our neighbourhoods to the nations by the power of God’s love.

What is the time commitment?

Leadership Academy is designed to be accessible, with the core content centred around a Monday evening, allowing it to fit alongside existing work, family, and church commitments.
The weekly time commitment is approximately 3 hours:
  • 1.5 hours of independent self-study
  • 1.5 hours of cohort teaching, ministry, and community
Participants are also expected to serve on a KingsGate team alongside Leadership Academy. These serving hours are in addition to the 3 hours outlined above and will vary depending on the team you serve on.

When is the teaching?

Teaching is delivered in a hybrid format.
  • We will start the year with a retreat at our KingsGate Peterborough Campus
  • Each week, you will be given self-study materials to work through ahead of the Monday cohort session.

  • Most sessions will be held online. Once per half-term, the whole Academy will meet in person at the KingsGate Peterborough campus.

Is Leadership Academy only one year?

Our new Leadership Academy launches with Year 1 in September 2026, and while Year 2 and 3 won’t run this year, we’re planning optional pathways for the future. These streams will focus on leadership tracks such as Kingdom Ambassadors, Ministry Leaders, Pioneer Leaders, and Church Planters, giving students the opportunity to continue growing in their calling beyond Year 1 if they choose.

Can I have a placement?

If you have additional time to give and want to grow in your leadership, we offer optional voluntary placements within a KingsGate department, working alongside a KingsGate Department Mentor. These placements take place during the day and provide hands-on experience to develop your skills and understanding of church leadership in practice.

If you are interested, please specify this on your application form so we can explore the right placement for you. Take a look at some of the departments that you can work with:
