Monday 14 – Wednesday 16 November

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
– Philippians 4:6-7

This encouragement is part of the apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Philippi, which was written partly to thank those believers for their faithful giving to the work of the ministry (Phil 1:5). He returns to this theme of thanking them for their gifts and goes on to say in verses 18–19, “They [your gifts] are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

During these three days of prayer and fasting we are going to be asking the question, Does God Care About Our Finances? Of course, the answer to that is a resounding… YES! God definitely cares about our finances and the Bible has a lot to teach us about having peace and stability, especially during turbulent, economic times. When we put Him first and trust in His Word, we can be sure of His peace, guidance, wisdom and provision. Crises can also provide opportunities for God’s people to flourish spiritually and point others to Christ, who is our rock and hope, not just for now but for all eternity.

So, let’s stand together and stand out, as people who are radical in our praying and radical in our giving, and let’s see what the Lord will do.
